1982 A/W Gigot Sleeve Top

Dramatic puffed sleeve top by Saint Laurent Rive Gauche from the A/W 1982 collection. Metallic silk taffeta leg-of-mutton sleeves create a classic Gibson Girl silhouette with a velvet bodice and slight peplum waist. Smooth concave buttons line the front, with a round neckline and lined bodice. Unlined sleeves with buttoned cuff. We would wear with a long stretch velvet fishtail skirt or full ball skirt with a ribbon choker and gold baroque earrings. If we're feeling sassy, we'd go avant gardé and pair with a Comme des Garçons gathered drop crotch pant. Black, maroon, gold.
